Michael Morpurgo Turns 80!

Sir Michael Morpurgo is one of the UK's most prolific and loved authors of all time, and this year, he is turning 80!

Over the course of his writing career, he has written over 150 books, become Children's Laureate and won multiple prizes, from the Blue Peter Book Award to the Eleanor Farjeon Lifetime Achievement Award. In his lifetime, he has truly achieved such great things, most importantly touching the hearts of so many children with his brilliant writing. 

Some of Michael Morpurgo's stories take inspiration from his life, for example his experience attending boarding school, which he never liked and wrote about in his novel, Butterly Lion. Some of his stories have been inspired by the great classics. But most of his stories take his readers to truly fantastical worlds on breath-taking journeys, where the impossible becomes possible... 

To celebrate the birthday of such a truly fantastic writer, HarperCollins Publishers are rolling out some shiny new editions of some of his best-loved books for readers new and old to collect and fall in love with.
