Coleman and his little sister, Shelby, are at the doctor's office waiting to get their booster shots. Shelby is shaking with fear. She and everyone else remembers it took five people (and several bruises) to hold her down the last time. Coleman fumes while he waits to go first. He' ll show her that there's nothing to be afraid of. Girls, in his opinion, are such wimps! As Coleman steams about in anger and impatience with Shelby, he pulls his sock buddies out of his backpack and his faithful friend, Sockrates, reminds Coleman of the story of Esther. She was a girl who was extremely brave and when God needed her to stand up and do what was right, she did it. Coleman admits that not all girls are chicken, and Shelby, who ends up going first, learns that she can be brave too.
Kids will love this hilarious fairy tale adventure packed with clever twists, familiar characters and page-turning fun.
