The PREP Pack is an exciting range of colourful story charts and story books which introduces learners to reading and writing skills. The materials have been tested in classrooms in both rural and urban areas and provide good support for outcomes-based Learning Programmes. The lively Story Charts for Grades 1 to 3 are for whole class or group teaching and consist of full colour Picture Charts and matching Text Charts. Each set of charts has Teacher's Notes, with suggestions for teaching beginners and more advanced readers, as well as suggestions for bilingual reading lessons. The Text Charts are divided into three levels of difficulty and are available in all the official South African languages. There is a Teacher's Resource Book for Grade 1 which offers a variety of ideas on how to teach reading and writing. An Activity Book is available for Grade 2 which is a Learner's Book and Teacher's Guide combined and offers a wide variety of activities based on the life experiences of the learners.
Guidelines for teaching and using the Story Charts and Readers are included on every page of the Activity Book.
